Oil and Russia Contagion Possibilities?

Let me know your thoughts?

What to do with WLL - DUMP or HOLD

Will OPEC kill off the leveraged small producers?     How long can WLL handle oil under 75$?    All good questions as this stock could tap out if this is a real OPEC house cleaning.

When Will be the Bottom in Oil?

Oil and Gas stocks are still a bit of a question as OPEC would need to keep the pricing low for long enough the kill the cash flows of the speculative producers.     I would estimate that could take at least 6 months.    This would suggest the speculative and leveraged groups are going to be in trouble.     Let me know your thoughts?

BOGO Sale Starting To Line Up on The Street?

I think at DOW 17,500 time to start nibbling.

Sold Another 100 KO

52 week high almost and so far I have not heard a peep about how they are going to rearrange their market to accommodate new and healthy young tastes.   Without a plan they are going to flounder.....

October BOGO on Wall Street is Here AGAIN!

It will be hard as always to pick the bottom, but one can definitely postulate that current prices are definitely going on sale.     I like banks, small caps, and High Beta stocks like CRM and ADSK.

The Bear is Arriving - What to Put Your Money Into NOW!

Two main bear problems are EU Weekness (China Export Weakness) and EBOLA.   So what should be purchased:

CRM - Secular Growth and Cost Cutting
ADSK - 3D Printer Growth Coupled with Construction Upturn in Growth
DIS - Value Vacations and Movie Franchise.

The solution could be lessened tension in Ukraine and a vaccine or containment of Ebola.

I plan to purchase these with some cash and high dividend stocks like PM or KO.

Starting To Shake the Bull

If we all just concentrate on the glass being half empty maybe we can create a real buying opportunity:
  • Ebola cases exploding in africa and starting to become an issue in the developing world.
  • the banks no longer paying the debt service on China's empty cities.
  • When will the emerging markets hit bottom
  • Russia's winter invasion of the rest of Ukraine (1930s Nazi Czech invasion of Sudatenland Part II)
  •  ISIS gone international
  • Alqaeda feeling the pressure to do something before they loose the headlines to ISIS
  • West Africa economic collapse after travel restrictions
  • Argentina Default sets of financial crisis in South America.
Sorry for my sarcasm gets away with me on Fridays, but this seems like how the market rolls back and forth.    Stay turned for continued market correction and a good buying opportunity for Tech stocks, Biotech, Hospital, Regional Banks, and Construction.

Are We Starting to See Cracks in the International Markets?

Will GE, DAL, GM and other internationals start to be reduced by analysts based on increased risk being added to the market by international events like:

  1. Ebola - Communication, Food Shortages, and Transportation Shutdowns.
  2. ISIS - Televised Evil
  3. Syria Revolution - Shiite vs. Sunni Islam between Iran and Saudi Arabia
  4. Ukraine - Escalating Sanctions, EU energy and economy risk,
  5. Chinese Oil and Land Seizures in the South China Sea

Sold 125 EEM

Market seems high and the Emerging Markets have had a good time for a while.    Additionally, I am just concerned with ISIS, Ukraine, Libya etc.      The Geopolitical Issues seem to be staking up with no end in sight.    Eventually, these will become a problem for stocks like BP in Russia etc.

Libya, Syria, Iraq, ISIS, Chechnia, North Korea, Ebola, EU Banking Issues, Argentina Default and of course Ukraine / Russia ....

Well, quite honestly there a many reasons for the market to go down.   The underlying US Stock Market must just be the best place to park money right now even given the current risks.

Sold 100 KO

Still a good stock with proven management.     However, one has to have caution when there are still not very good options on the healthy alternatives to pop the core business.    The younger generation will just leave these options behind if nothing happens for healthy options.

Sold 100 shares of KO

Hardly down today compared with the rest of the marked.     KO has had a bump in the last weeks and I have been trying to lower my position given the outlook for developed world reduction in carbonated drink consumption.     I am not going crazy selling everything because this is such a good company, but the short term seems challenging unless they can figure something NEW AND HEALTHY options for consumers in the developed world out.

I am waiting for a market correction in order to get more ADSK, CRM, TWTR, DD, GM, DAL.....

Let me know your thoughts????

Summer Rotation Concepts - Buy Risk and Sell Safe Dividend Stocks

What happened to Sell in May and Walk Away.    I think there is just too much money on the sidelines and just too much interest in the market.    If not the US Equity Market than what?
  • International Opportunities:
    • Ukraine (political risk)?
    • Eqypt (political risk)?
    • Turkey (corruption risk)?
    • Iraq (risk everywhere)?
    • Syria (political risk)?
    • China (real estate risk)?
    • Argentina (debtor risk)?
  • Bonds? (risk of interest rates rising)
  • Commodities ?(overall there is not enough demand yet)  Some exceptions like AA.    Also, there are signs of inflation here so this area could be good soon, but not now.
  • Real Estate (the big rises have already happened)?
  • Gold (unless Saudi Arabia and Iran start squaring off over Syria and Iraq or there is always Ukraine or the steadies like North Korea etc.)?
  • What is left?   US EQUITIES
The main risk moving forward is a correction originating from a Fed Rate Hike and International Issues.    I would view both corrections as a buying opportunity still.    Also, I am planning to reduce my % cash available soon as well.

Sold 100 EEM

A Bear Market in Search of a Reason to Go Down

I remember sending myself a reminder to sell ADSK about 6 months ago based on the charts.    It certainly feels like the technicals are waging this market.   Now we just need some fundamentals to justify the bear market.
